To tell you more about the ride, I can just say it was awesome. I am so glad that Gina was riding with me and Dave. She has great strength and determination and was my personal cheerleader. On the last 4 miles, she encouraged me with, "Come on, you can do it!" Even though my knee had stabbing pains, Dave and Gina rode slower, to match my slow pace. But what an incredible day! We rode over the Fred Hartman Bridge, down Hwy 225, over to San Jacinto Monument, across the ferry, into Highlands and then to Crosby, and back around to the East side of Baytown and then back to the beginning. I am glad we choose the 62 mile ride instead of the 43, because at 45 miles, I was still feeling great and it would not have been the challenge that the longer ride created. It was also fun to see Jeremy, Bradley, and Emma come by to wave at us. That gave me an extra boost. And thanks for your notes of encouragement on the guestbook page.
