One week from today at this time, we will have already left the starting line in Waller. Everytime I push over a hill, I think how hard it is, and then remember that last year, we had no hills to push over during training. (Except for the Fred Hartman Bridge.) And of course, how hard it is for those who have MS. Anyway, I'm ready. We have our packet with maps and bike numbers, and we're getting our gear ready to drop off on Friday afternoon.
This year I'm going to carry Jennifer Standing's name on the bandana for someone with MS. She is the daughter of a friend. Polly and I went to seminary together and last week, we roomed together for the Clergywomen Retreat. Anyway, Jennifer is like many others, trying to get adjusted to living with MS. I will carry the bandana in her honor. Stay tuned for updates.
